Lived experience. Clear policy. Practical change.

We make complex flood policy understandable and make sure the experience of flooded people reaches the rooms where decisions are made.

Our policy priorities

Three changes that flooded people are asking for.

These priorities grow from what flooded people and Flood Action Groups tell us across the country.

01

Fair funding and accountability

We need to fix the ‘externalities’ problem. Developers, oil & gas, and water companies who contribute to raising the risk. But the cost of managing it is borne by households and taxpayers. We need everyone to contribute to fix this.

02

A national standard of protection

We support the National Infrastructure Commission's recommendation to achieve a national standard of protection. This means a big plan to get shovels in the ground to keep people safe.

03

Humane recovery

For the floods we cannot prevent, people need care, clear information and meaningful help to recover.
