If you have experienced flooding in your home,
our Facebook group is for you.

This group is a private online community specifically for flooded people to connect with one another across the UK. It is a safe space to exchange experiences and to provide an opportunity to empathise, support, encourage debate and exchange ideas.

We moderate to offer a space that is:

  • Constructive: flooded people deserve a listening ear, care, warmth, and help. Being respectful to each other is fundamental for a flourishing, supportive and empowering community space.

  • Informative: in an emergency and in post-flood recovery, flooded people’s access to accurate information from trusted sources can be a matter of life and death.

  • Action-oriented: talking is not enough. Flooded people need real action and follow-up from those who want to help, whether ourselves, governments, or anyone.

Whether we’re sharing experiences, expressing anger, our frustration, or giving an opinion we all need to feel safe and secure when doing so.

To keep this on track please take note and abide by the group's rules. You will be asked to agree to them and abide by them in the group. This is not the group to advertise your business or promote your services. Nor is this a group for political parties to court voters, government agencies (or anyone) to collect data, or journalists to solicit stories. We operate a zero tolerance policy on people who break these rules and you will be removed from the group.

If you have any questions, then our community team are available to you by emailing: community@floodedpeople.org.uk

Welcome flooded people!

As someone who is leading our local FLAG I was just about to throw the towel in until i found this group. To be able to share advice, best practice and support each other is essential and to realise that there are others out there fighting the same fight. many of which who are in a worse situation than you. It is our only way forward to support each other and become one single voice that will get attention.

What if I'm not on Facebook?

Lots of people aren't. No problem. If you are not on Facebook, we suggest you get in touch via email. We would love to arrange a call and come to visit your community to learn about your flooding issue.

If possible, we recommend that at least one member of your flooded community join the group and act as a liaison. If that is not possible, we'll figure something out.
